From a very young age, I have always found myself drawn to agriculture. I dreamed of living in the country, surrounded by livestock and working in my own garden. I even studied Animal Science at Virginia Tech with a focus in livestock with dreams of becoming a large animal veterinarian. As I grew older though and graduated from college, life happens, and I found myself moving farther away from agriculture and focusing on my career outside of the field.

Fast forward to early 2023, when my husband, Marzae, and I purchased our home on 5 acres. It felt like our little slice of heaven; hundreds of acres of rolling farmland around us, mama cows and their babies against our fence line, and any kind of wildlife you can think of trancing through our backyard. Moving into our home ignited my love of agriculture all over again, and I promptly tasked my husband of building my first, and very own greenhouse. Through the winter of 2023, Marzae and my dad (with supervision from my dog, Jack) built a greenhouse of my dreams. Completed with a yellow door and 5 raised beds, I could finally start my own little garden. This first year was certainly trial and error as some items thrived in the humid environment, while others struggled in the heat of the greenhouse. The items that thrived were all 5 of my dahlia plants, and I finally saw my vision come to life. The first time I was able to cut my own bouquet of a variety of pink dahlias, I knew I wanted to expand and share my passion with others.

My beloved pup, Jack, was a pit/lab mix with short golden fur. He brought so much joy to those around him and loved spending his last 2 years soaking in the sun and wind in his new backyard. He sadly passed in February of 2024 and was never able to see the blooms that he helped to plant in the greenhouse. In June of 2024, we welcomed our golden retriever pup named Hank, who helped to bring life back to our mini farm. Hank has loved to help me cut blooms, dig in the dirt (especially digging in the dirt) and plant our fall bulbs into the yard. We settled on the name Golden Blooms Farm to honor both Jack and Hank, who have both played a role in making this dream a reality.

This winter, Marzae and I have worked to expand our mini flower farm for 2025, with expanding outside the greenhouse and adding in many new varieties. The new varieties include Ranunculus, Peonies, Papaver and several additional colors of dahlias. We have plans to build a farm stand where we can sell our cut flowers, and hope you stay tuned to follow along in this journey and see all our beautiful, colorful blooms come to life. We are so excited to share this new adventure with you.
